Website of the Week Charleston, Roanoke and Eastern Railways
Posted by ThoroughBreed on Friday, 15 August 2008 (04:52:20) (14 reads)

Set in the mountains of VA, is this ficticous railway line that connects Charleston, WV and Danville, VA. Here is a N scale, double deck, around the walls with a peninsula, late 1980's to early 1990's era layout that runs 2 class1 rr's with representatives of their early paint schemes. It also has some destinations to Bruce Faulkners CSXT Shenandoah Division.
With some excellent pics of the layout and some proto's set in the mountains, it's a great site to visit.

Website of the Week Lets take a virtual tour of Juniata shops
Posted by ThoroughBreed on Sunday, 20 July 2008 (01:00:00) (58 reads)

Heres a great site for a virtual tour of the Juniata Shops in Altoona, PA. Explore all the links:
A general history; the gallery contains a tour of the car shops, paint shop; roster shots of steam and electric locos constructed in the shops; miscellaneous photos of modern power with some cameos of NS OCS; A time line; Diagrams and Maps with track plans for the 12"=1' scale; A listing of current build programs, rebuilds, and conversions.
I guarantee theres enough info in there to keep you occupied for a bit, lol. So grab a cup of coffee, and sit back and explore the former PRR shops.

Ever look at your rolling stock and wonder "whats missing?" Heres an interesting site to get actual placards for your rolling stock from. Just what you needed to dress up that tank car or even box cars, to give them that authentic look.

Skip was the winner by a landslide vote this month. A fine looking scene it was also with a look into the engine house and the waiting engines out side.
